To become the centre of expertise for inclusivity in South Devon and beyond, through pioneering training activity

Target Implementation
  1. [i] To develop an inclusion module for ITT.
  • In year 1, to develop and agree the ITT inclusion module by mid June ’05 and market its’ existence to applicants for 2005/06.
  • In year 2, to accept 5 student teachers on this inclusion module, assess, monitor and coach on their progress
  • In year 3, to accept 10 student/existing teachers on the inclusion module, assess, monitor and coach on their progress
  1. [ii] To provide cross-phase teacher training for primary, secondary and special education.

 

  • In year 1, pilot cross-phase ITT with two students from Exeter University .
  • In year 2, to develop and agree cross-phase SCITT/GTP Course.
  • In year 3, accept up to three student teachers on this cross phase course.
  1. To develop cross-phase courses specifically for Teaching Assistants.

 

  • In year 1, develop induction courses in core subjects and specific learning difficulties – market and deliver.
  • In year 2, develop higher level specialist modules in specific special needs and specific curriculum areas. Market and deliver.
  1. To develop a shortened inclusion module specifically for Teaching Assistants.

 

  • In year 1, to develop and agree the shortened module by July 005 and conduct awareness sessions for teachers and TAs – both in the Federation and to the wider network of Devon and further schools.
  • In year 2, to market and deliver modules to 30 TAs
  • In year 3, to market and delivery modules to a further 60 TAs
