To redefine and redevelop the role of the Teaching Assistant such that Teachers, TAs and pupils work together to maximise the learning experience.

- In conjunction with teaching staff, to redefine and redevelop the role of the Teaching Assistant

- In year 1, to redefine the role of the TA and communicate this new approach both to teaching staff and to Teaching Assistants throughout [see also 4.1a]
- To encourage those TAs who wish to register for the Foundation course, to enable them eventually to achieve QTS [see 4.1b]
- To encourage the remainder of the TAs to take the ‘certificate’ qualification [see 4.1c]
- From Year 2 onwards, to manage and mentor the TAs in their new role, with teaching staff and measure the improvement by means of surveys of both teachers and pupils [see 4.4]
