Aims
Middle Layer Benefits
- We would intend to make the results of shared teaching and learning available to other schools in Devon and via the proposed annual conference, help and encourage others in the area to embark on similar schemes, for the benefit of Devon pupils.
- Improved and active relationships with local employers will bring about increased understanding in pupils of what work involves, where they might obtain it and will begin to prepare them for it - in a way which keeps them part of the local communities of employment and education at the same time.
- Improved links with Further and Higher education institutes will allow our school children to have greater understanding of what learning opportunities are open to them - such that they will approach FE/HE with greater knowledge and better able to make informed choices. The enhanced relationship with HE achieved through developing leading edge courses in inclusion will widen the sphere of influence of the schools and the reputation with other phases of education and the community.
- Extending relationships further into the local community and offering opportunities for greater local involvement in our schools strengthens the bond between governors, parents, potential parents and schools
- Closer links with DfES, the LEA and others will allow 2-way sharing of acquired knowledge on the benefits of federations and the collaboration agenda.
